Drawing Horse
Almost all drawing starts with basic shapes. There are 4 basic shapes: circle, square, triangle and rectangle. Its easier to learn to draw 2d first, then build your skills up to 3d after that.
Draw your horse in the box provided (you have some shapes to get you started - this is designed for children aged 6 years - my grade: 1 curriculum and they love it. They do a good job too.) Adults learn to draw wherever they left off as a child so its good to start at a basic level like this.
Start by drawing the shapes you see in step 1. Then when you have drawn all the shapes, the outline is easy to add. If you practice these often you will be able to draw them from memory. I call them ‘Memory Drawings.’ I have a whole heap of them in my courses so that kids can grow up knowing the basic animals to draw. Its lovely and fun. It also gives them plenty of opportunity to express themselves more because they have a broader skill-set and so they draw a wider range of subject matter. These animals were all drawn by my 11 year old daughter using the step by step process above.
Here’s an example of an entire scene put together (see below.) The background was painted by myself (but normally the kids in the class do their own, I was just creating this example for the creation of exercise so I did this background) and the animals were all drawn by my 11 year daughter - they are the same animals that you see above - its a multi-layer collage project taught over 4 lessons. She did a great job didn’t she. I am sure you will be able to draw this horse too - if you do I would love to see it somehow.
